Dogs Trust Cardiff have been caring for their first litter of rescue puppies – who are all now ready to go off to their new homes.  The ten German Shepherd cross puppies arrived as part of an unplanned litter, when their owner, who realised they could not take care of them, acted responsibly and brought them into the care of Dogs Trust’s newest rehoming centre on Nettlefold Road.  The pups, five boys and five girls, are proud Cardiffians and have all been given Welsh names – Huw, Steffan, Rhodri, Alwyn, Iefan, Gwen, Bronwyn, Nia, Lowri and Myfanwy. House prices in Wales rose to a new average peak price of £215,810 in Q2 2021 (April-June), with the strongest rate of growth reported over the past year. The figures have been released from Principality Building Society’s Wales House Price Index for Q2 2021, which demonstrates the rise and fall in house prices in each of the 22 local authorities in Wales. South Wales Police is continuing to investigate the death of a two year-old boy in Broadlands, Bridgend. He has been named as Reid Steele. He was admitted to the University Hospital of Wales on Wednesday evening from an address on the Broadlands Estate in Bridgend, but he died in hospital the following day (Thursday, Aug 12). A record amount of investment is being made in essential maintenance and building upgrades in schools in Swansea this year. Money is being spent on roofs, heating and electrical systems, playground resurfacing, wall and door replacements and structural repairs.
