ParalympicsGB has today confirmed that archer Dave Phillips has been selected to represent Great Britain at the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games this summer. Phillips will join the four other members of the squad named so far – Paralympic gold medallists Jess Stretton and John Stubbs, along with Nathan MacQueen and Hazel Chaisty. South Caernarfon Creameries (SCC) has won two awards for its Double Gloucester cheese at the 2021 Virtual Cheese Awards, in association with Food and Drink Wales. The north Wales farmers co-operative won Best Territorial Cheese and Best Welsh Cheese for its Double Gloucester cheese, which is made to a traditional recipe, rich, buttery and mellow in taste. Pupils across Wales are benefitting from an initiative to foster entrepreneurship and boost the use of the Welsh language in business. The Schools Initiative, created by independent economic development company Menter a Busnes (MaB), provides schools with first-hand business skills and experience. Delivered by dedicated members of MaB staff with support from local business people, the Schools Initiative includes primary and secondary schools. Swansea Market has secured the highest possible UK Government energy rating. Its grade A rating confirms that the city centre venue is amongst those buildings that have the lowest carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Recent years has seen Swansea Council work hard with staff, stallholders and shoppers to bring emissions down. The new official energy certificate is now on display at the market. A multi-million pound transformation of shopping and community facilities in Llanedeyrn has been completed. The Maelfa Regeneration Scheme has revitalised the local area and delivered a modern, new shopping centre, affordable new homes, better road infrastructure and parking and public realm improvements. Phase 1 was completed in late 2019 and Phase 2 is also now complete. Work to improve the entrance into Village Farm Industrial Estate in Pyle is set to begin on 14 June. The work, which will target the Heol Mostyn junction of the A48, is being carried out ahead of the planned opening of the estate’s all-new community recycling centre later in the year. To improve traffic flow, avoid congestion and prevent vehicles from queuing, it will create an all-new dedicated lane for turning into and out of the estate off the A48. Recipients are told that there is information missing from their completed Census and asked to click on a link to complete their form or face prosecution.
