Local children’s cancer charity The Joshua Tree, celebrate their 15th year supporting families affected by childhood cancers. The Joshua Tree was founded in 2006 by Lynda and David Hill after their son was diagnosed with leukaemia and discovered a distinct lack in support services for all family members during the traumatic experience of childhood cancer. A young wheelchair basketball star and athlete is aiming for Paralympic gold as lockdown eases after netting a major Welsh sports award. Sixteen-year-old Will Bishop, a Year 11 student at leading independent school Myddelton College, in Denbigh, is a double Welsh international on the basketball court and on the track. Teams from Westerleigh Group’s crematoria walked a total of 1,000 miles to raise more than £3,500 in honour of pandemic hero Captain Sir Tom Moore to mark what would have been his 101st birthday at the end of April.
