The family of the motorcyclist who died on Sunday (6 Sep) in a single vehicle collision on the B4512 Penrhys Road, have paid tribute to him. A SCHOOLGIRL with a rare neurological condition has inspired the Welsh Ambulance Service to produce a new resource to help children understand what happens if they call 999. Matilda Evans, of Carmarthenshire, has microcephaly, a condition where a baby is born with a small head or the head stops growing after birth. The nine-year-old is a frequent visitor to hospital but previous bad experiences have left her with anxiety about healthcare professionals. Year seven pupils at Lliswerry High School have been asked to self-isolate after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19. Around 185 pupils are affected and steps have been taken to contact parents and carers and ensure pupils can return home safely and appropriately. On site measures are in place to ensure year seven pupils are not in contact with any other pupils while this process is completed. The pupils have been asked to remain at home for 14 days as a precautionary measure in order to reduce the possible spread of the virus to family, friends and the wider community.…

BT’s 999 key workers at its call centre in the north of Wales handled more than 5.7 million emergency calls in the past year, it was revealed today.
