A contractor has now been appointed to carry out Phases Two and Three of the Tylorstown landslip remediation – and this work, including the removal of 60,000 tonnes of spoil to two receptor sites, will begin on Monday. Cardiff is set to trial its very first Demand Response Transport (DRT) scheme where passengers can remotely book bus journeys, and schedules are altered according to demand. fflecsi G1 is the brand-new DRT service to be operated by Wales’ leading transport provider NAT Group in partnership with Cardiff Council and Transport for Wales. The latest recommendations on the proposals to establish new primary school provision to serve parts of north-west Cardiff have been approved by the local authority’s Cabinet. The report notes that the delivery of the new school will be delayed as a result of COVID-19 but that negotiations are ongoing with the developer in relation to their revised timetable. People experiencing homelessness in Flintshire during the coronavirus pandemic have been supported by a new service, Glanrafon Homelessness Hub, which has rapidly responded and adapted to the crisis. In the National Welsh Government rough sleeper count in October 2019, there were 10 people rough sleeping recorded in the county. The number had tripled from three people since 2017. A pilot emergency bed scheme for rough sleepers had been operating since 2018 but this had come to an end in September 2019.
