A MULTI-MILLION pound new ambulance station is coming to Cardiff, it has been announced today. Welsh Government is investing £8 million in a state-of-the-art facility in the capital’s Pontprennau area, which will be the new home for emergency and non-emergency crews currently based in Blackweir. Emergency crews will collect their vehicles from the new station at the start of their shift and some will take up positions at deployment points across the city. A 16-year-old from Pembrokeshire has set up a jewellery business to help a marine conservation charity with a goal of a plastic-free coastline. Sadie Pearce, a student at Pembrokeshire College, has set up her own handmade jewellery business, My Coast, and donates 10% of every sale to Surfers Against Sewage. Sadie started her business with the help of Big Ideas Wales, part of Business Wales and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government. A North Wales distillery is the 50th company to sign a pledge celebrating the food and drink industry as a diverse and exciting place to work. A four-star hotel in the heart of North Wales has secured a £500,000 finance facility from HSBC UK to undergo an extensive refurbishment project, following the acquisition of an adjacent building earlier in the year. Known for its quality cuisine, warmth and hospitality, The Dunoon Hotel in Llandudno (established in 2002) has used the six-figure funding to completely restore and fit-out the 12,000 sq. ft. derelict building next door. Researchers at Aberystwyth University’s Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (IBERS) and staff at Llysfasi launched the HEFCW-funded £370,000 PreciseAg partnership in 2018 in order to carry out innovative on-farm trials of Precision Livestock Technology.
