Welsh Government has unveiled its latest TV advertising campaign during Organ Donation Week (2nd – 9th September) in a bid to encourage more people to sign the Organ Donor Register. This is the third advert from the Welsh Government and evolves from last year’s hard-hitting campaign urging people to have the organ donation conversation but also to make a decision, tell their family and then register it online. RUGBY fans have helped the Edenstone Foundation to support a young adult with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. The Edenstone Foundation, part of the Edenstone Group, teamed up with rugby legends Sam Warburton and Andrew Coombs to hold a pre-world cup gala dinner to raise money for a specially adapted wheelchair for Jake Ogborne. Jake, 18, lives in Bristol with his family.  He was diagnosed with the degenerative neuro-muscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy type three, aged just four. Following the unprecedented success of last year’s campaign, Wales’ leading first aid charity, St John Cymru, are hoping to train more people than ever in lifesaving first aid during September as part of ‘Save a Life September’. KPMG UK research finds that just over a quarter (26%) of people in Wales have changed their spending as a result of Brexit uncertainties. 35 Bangor University students will be trekking up Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, in aid of the mental health charity Mind. The students will fly to Tanzania on the 3rd of September 2019, to trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, which is 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level.
