The UK Government has today (Wednesday 21 August) announced that it will start automatically enrolling UK firms in a customs system as it speeds up its preparations for a no-deal Brexit. An innovative pilot scheme which will see the first modular homes built as part of Cardiff Council’s flagship housebuilding programme has been given the go-ahead by Planning Committee. The 68 year-old woman who died following a road traffic collision on Cowbridge Road, Cardiff on Friday 16th August has been named as Oi Mee Lam from Llandaff. The collision involved a grey Nissan Micra, a black Audi A3 and a black taxi. Ms Lam, the driver of the Micra, was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, where she later died. A Welsh dragon has taken pride of place on the new International Convention Centre Wales (ICC Wales) in Newport, overlooking the M4. It was built within workshops in Pontypool and Caldicot by local company Pro Steel Engineering. It has taken over eight months to create and approximately 22 tonnes of steel plate and section. The team had a range of employees working on the project, fabricators, welders, painters and erectors. Apprentices and trainees were involved during every step of the process including design, manufacturing and installation.
