A son is organising a Snowdon challenge for Macmillan in memory of his father journalist and historian Gwyn Griffiths to thank the charity for supporting his family. Author, award-winning translator and historian Gwyn, who lived in Pontypridd, died in April last year aged 77 just months after being diagnosed with incurable cancer. A recent external inspection of Cardiff Airport’s environmental credentials has revealed impressive results. Since 2015/16 Cardiff Airport has been able to successfully reduce carbon emissions by 53%, and in just one year alone, emissions have reduced by 26%. The iconic Metal Box factory in Neath, an important part of the local economy for more than 80 years, is now operational again for the first time in almost four years.
