The woman who died following an incident at an address in Carlton Street earlier this week (April 23) has been named as 22-year-old Sammy-Lee Lodwig. Her family has been informed of her death and are being supported by specially trained officers – her sister Miakala has issued the following tribute on behalf of the family: “I loved my sister more that life itself. South Wales Police is appealing for information to locate a sex offender who is wanted on warrant for breaching his licence. Ian Campbell, 40, failed to comply with licence conditions when he was released from prison in 2017. He’s been on the run from police since, and officers believe that he was once, and may still be, in the Brighton area. Campbell, who is originally from the Rhondda Cynon Taf area of south Wales, was jailed back in 2016 for possessing indecent images. The University of South Wales (USW) was specially chosen to host the inauguration ceremony of the new High Sheriff of Mid Glamorgan. Snowdon Mountain Railway is preparing to mark the 10th anniversary since the opening of its summit building as trains return to Wales’ highest peak this week. Hafod Eryri, which loosely translates as ‘high summer dwelling on Snowdon’, opened in June 2009 replacing the ageing building that had stood there since 1935. At 3,507ft above sea level it is Wales’ highest inhabited building, and also serves as the terminus for the railway, offering shelter, refreshments and stunning views to around half-a-million visitors a year. Swansea High Street Traders, the organisers of Swansea High Street’s car boot sale, presented £2,000 to the Lord Mayor for his charity fund last weekend. Amazon has announced a new Site Leader at the Swansea site. Chris Law, from Port Talbot, will oversee operations at the local fulfilment centre, which opened its doors in 2008. Chris has worked for Amazon in South Wales and across the South of England for eight years and previously worked at Tata Steel, where he started as an apprentice.Speaking on his appointment, Chris said: “It’s a huge honour for me to lead the team at Amazon in Swansea.
