To mark No Smoking Day ASH Wales has commissioned Welsh artist, Britain’s Got Talent star Nathan Wyburn, to create a portrait of environmental campaigner Sir David Attenborough made using cigarette butts collected on Welsh beaches. The aim of the portrait, made of butts collected by Keep Wales Tidy, is to highlight the impact of cigarette butts on the environment and the fact that they pollute our oceans and waterways with plastic and toxins. Wales’s determination to maintain and strengthen its links with European partners will be the focus of an international business-to-business event taking place later this month. Despite Brexit uncertainties, the Welsh Government will tell the international delegation from the Atlantic Food Export Project that Wales remains an outward and welcoming nation, which is open for business. South Wales Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Daniel Owens, who has been reported as missing. Officers are growing increasingly concerned for Daniel, 56, who was last seen yesterday (Monday 11th March) at 11:15am in the Caewern area of Neath. It is believed he could still be in the Neath area. He was last seen wearing grey fleece top and dark trousers, and he has a tattoo of a swallow and “mam” on his right arm. The ScottishPower Foundation has announced this year’s recipients of its annual award fund. Five charities in Wales will share a part of the £1.25 million pot to help them make a positive difference to people’s lives in many diverse communities in the country. THE chance to run a cafe in a building which was once an undertakers is up for grabs. A rundown goods shed on an old railway line at  Meliden, Prestatyn, is undergoing a £1.2 million revamp, transforming it into a vibrant hub with heritage, bike hire facility, and business units.
