Budding photographers from Cardiff’s communities are getting the chance to showcase their creativity thanks to an exciting project from Wales’ leading science discovery centre. Educational charity Techniquest, based in Cardiff Bay, is challenging amateur photographers to capture what science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) means to them as part of a new project celebrating the talent of the local communities. Cardiff & Vale Health Charity’s Staff Lottery has recently funded a cinema room on Meadow Ward, Llanfair Unit at University Hospital Llandough for patients suffering from mental health conditions, helping them feel more relaxed and at home while they are in hospital. With comfortable chairs, new audio visual equipment and a newly decorated room, service users are able to watch films and TV programmes that they choose. £2.2bn worth of new investment opportunities, which will create new homes and jobs, have been launched today (Thursday 14 March) by the Department for International Trade.  Launched at international property event MIPIM, the new projects include an array of development opportunities in England and the government’s first Wales property investment portfolio, worth £1.19 billion.
