Former Culinary Team Wales captain Danny Burke is perfecting dishes as he prepares to represent his country in the Northern Europe heat of the Global Chef Challenge. Burke, who lives in Connah’s Quay and co-owns Olive Tree Catering in Runcorn, will be cooking against some of the top chefs in Northern Europe for a place in the final at the Worldchefs Congress in St Petersburg, Russia in 2020. The Women in Leadership programme is aimed at developing female leaders and focuses on developing the essential skills required for managers and leaders in organisations across Wales to facilitate business growth. House prices in Wales have reached an all-time peak, with the average house price across the country now £186,699. The figures have been released today from Principality Building Society’s Wales House Price Index for October – December 2018, which shows the rise and fall of house prices in each of the 22 local authorities in Wales. The new peak in Wales recorded in December is some £2,000 higher than the previous highest average in September 2018. Price growth in Q4 of 2018 slowed down to just 0.3% compared with the previous quarter at 3.6%, however the number of house sales…
Chocoholics in Wales would go to almost any lengths to get their hand on a bar of chocolate, including flouting the law if they had to, according to a new British Heart Foundation (BHF) survey. The figures show that 435,000 chocolate lovers (17% of the population) in the country would be willing to break the law if there was a ban or ration on chocolate by importing chocolate illegally or buying it off the black market. Kate Methuen-Ley, 42, and Helen Corsi-Cadmore, 37, business partners at Tiger Cardiff Ltd, the joint venture vehicle for Flying Tiger Copenhagen in Wales and Bristol City Centre, have sold their 50% share in the business to Danish parent company Zebra A/S for an undisclosed sum. Economy Minister, Ken Skates has welcomed the European Commission’s approval of an innovative plan, spearheaded by Wales that identifies compound semiconductors as an important sector. Gold medallist chef Nick Davies had a special reason to celebrate his 50th birthday, having been appointed the new manager of Culinary Team Wales.
