A FUN-FILLED family farming event will return bigger and better than ever this summer. Rhug Estate’s popular Open Farm Sunday takes place from 10am to 4pm on June 8. The Estate is preparing to welcome hundreds of visitors for another series of agricultural activities and attractions. Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales, has announced the launch of Afon Las — a new housing development in Cardiff, named by pupils from Ysgol Gynradd Groes-wen. A new co-operative formed between West Wales pig farmers and a meat supplier is allowing pork from herds born and reared within the region to be transported for processing just a short distance in a low-throughput abattoir – reducing stress on the animals, providing low food miles meat for consumers and improving producer margins.
