A project has recently been completed to install small cell technology that will provide people with more reliable mobile phone coverage at times when Swansea city centre is particularly busy. A nature-themed project has enhanced an underpass in Port Talbot through a series of murals, a ‘green screen’ and introducing a variety of new trees and plants. The initiative is part of Neath Port Talbot Council’s #NATUR Returning Green to Grey project which aims to integrate nature into urban areas. This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Cleddau Bridge opening to traffic with around 4.4millions vehicles crossing by road a year. The Cleddau Bridge is 820m long, with a main span of 213m and stands 37m above high water. It is one of the longest box girder type bridges in the world. The regulations are designed to prevent impulse purchases and over-consumption and will help to tackle the growing problem of obesity in Wales. One of Wales’ leading providers of tyre services is set to open a new facility that will give new life to old tyres, with Welsh Government support. Tuf Treads, in Carmarthenshire, will save old tyres from landfill by using them to produce premium re-treaded tyres using latest manufacturing technology. Re-treading gives suitable tyres a new start once the original tread is worn away. Based at Cross Hands Strategic Employment Site, the new factory will see 30 new jobs created.
