Swansea Building Society is encouraging people across Wales to review their savings plans following a recent announcement from the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) that the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) deposit protection limit is set to rise. Following an improved pay offer from First Cymru, proposed strike action planned to begin today (20 November) is now suspended. Workers had been due to strike due to anger over low rates of pay and because First were attempting to withhold back-pay. Unite members will now be balloted on the latest offer.
