A man from Swansea has been jailed after he was found with a large quantity of drugs and cash in his vehicle during a traffic stop. 25-year-old Saif Ali, from the city centre, was observed travelling at speed by patrolling officers in the area of Dyfatty Road on October 27 2024. After stopping, the vehicle was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act due to a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle, which was also linked to previous incidences of drug supply. A 40-year-old Bangor man who sexually assaulted a woman in the street has been jailed. Gethin Jones, of Garth Road, Bangor, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Friday January 10th after admitting to sexual assault. On December 18th Jones approached a woman he did not know and put his arms around her shoulders, trying to lead her down a nearby alleyway. He began making sexual comments towards her making her fear for her safety. Work is starting to help improve drainage conditions in Swansea’s much-loved Singleton Park. Contractors are moving on site to begin work on the project which will help improve conditions for park users and those attending large-scale music events which have become a summer-time feature in the park over recent years. The work will take up to six weeks and is being paid for through a UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) grant. Pembrokeshire County Council is currently preparing its new well-being objectives which detail how the Authority will make a difference in improving the well-being of local people and communities. The well-being objectives are part of the draft Corporate Strategy and a consultation has been launched for members of the public to provide feedback. The Council’s current Corporate Strategy was agreed in May 2023 and details 12 well-being objectives. RCT Council has submitted planning applications for two exciting hydro-electric schemes in Treforest and Aberdare, which both put forward innovative proposals to contribute to the Council’s carbon reduction targets.
