United Welsh has raised more than £12,000 for its charity of the year, the MND Association. Motor neurone disease (MND) was a cause close to the hearts of staff at the housing organisation after popular staff member, Ros O’Shea was diagnosed with the condition in March last year. The MND Association, which works to improve access to care, research and campaigns for people affected by the disease, was chosen after the diagnosis. A courageous mum-of-two with incurable cancer joined colleagues for the last mile of a 200-mile charity walk she inspired. Around 70 staff from the Everbright Group’s hotels took on the gruelling 10-day trek from North Wales to Penrith in relay teams to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. North Wales-based Rib Ride Adventure Boat Tours has secured a £150,000 investment from the Development Bank of Wales to support the purchase of a new, state-of-the-art rigid inflatable boat, strengthening its year‑round offer and extending the visitor season on the Menai Strait. Patients in Wales are being left stuck in hospital beds for weeks longer than necessary due to a lack of suitable housing and support, with delays costing the equivalent of £31,500 in NHS bed capacity each night according to new research published today by Community Housing Cymru (CHC). RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an injured gull found in Troedyrhiw, Merthyr Tydfil, was found to be shot. The adult male gull was spotted by a concerned home owner on Thursday (23 April) at Rhodfa Terrace, and contacted the RSPCA. “The gull was dragging its wing and was collapsing to the ground, so was clearly injured and in distress,” said RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer Ethan Griffin, who was called to the scene. “When I got there I could see the gull was in a very poor way and appeared to have an injury to its stomach. “I transferred…
