Nathan Turner, 34 from Maesteg was sentenced at Newport Crown Court on Friday June 22 to a total of 18 years in prison for multiple offences. Turner was convicted of the following offences: 1)Coercive and controlling behaviour 2)ABH 3)Criminal Damage 4)ABH 5)Pervert the course of justice 6)Rape 7)Rape At Newport Crown Court Turner was sentenced to 15 years in prison with three years extended for a total sentence of 18 years. RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information after an American Bulldog type dog was left abandoned outside its animal centre in Newport. The dog – named Kevin by staff – was left in a crate with no bedding, food, water or shelter. He was found outside the Hartridge Road centre last Monday (17 June), at around 7.40am. He was believed to have been left at around 7am. South Wales Police, serious collision investigation unit are continuing their investigation following a serious road traffic collision that occurred at 06:05hours on Friday the 3rd May 2024 on the A48 , St Nicholas, Vale of Glamorgan. Aberystwyth University research will benefit from being part of $30 million Bezos Earth Fund grant to make global food systems more environmentally friendly, in a global project led by Imperial College London.  Funding for the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein will help develop alternative food products that are economically and environmentally friendly as well as nutritious, affordable, and tasty. Some areas of low cloud and patchy drizzle will persist around southwestern coasts, and the northwest will be cloudier with patchy rain. A Cardiff man caught with a kilo of cocaine has been jailed. Shaho Fatah ran away from officers into undergrowth but his bid for freedom came to end thanks to police dog Alfie. Cocaine, worth between £23k and £32k, and around £1.5k cash, was found in the car Fatah was driving.
