Officers in Pontprennau, Llanrumney and St Mellons have been given extra powers to prevent gatherings, the illegal use of fireworks and anti-social behaviour over the Bonfire Night period. The 24-hour dispersal order, granted under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, came into force at 9am today (Wednesday, November 5) and will remain in place until 9am tomorrow. Landmark legislation that will transform Britain’s railways is being introduced today (5 November), paving the way for a simpler, more reliable network which puts passengers before profits.
