British menswear brand Charles Tyrwhitt is set to open its first ever store in Wales, with a new location confirmed for St David’s Shopping Centre in Cardiff. A devoted daughter is speaking out to raise awareness about the cruel disease that’s struck her father at a tragically young age. At just 52 years old Tony Thomas – known locally in Gaerwen on Anglesey as Tony Graig – was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a group of brain disorders that also affects Hollywood actor Bruce Willis. Ceredigion County Council’s Porth Gofal (Targeted Intervention) Team is being expanded to reduce delays for residents who are ready to leave hospital but require care support. The Council has secured £726,503 in recurring funding from the Welsh Government’s Pathways of Care Transformation Fund, which is being used to recruit additional social care staff and strengthen services that support timely hospital discharge, admission avoidance, and independent living at home. Sacyr UK, the contractor building the new Velindre Cancer Centre (nVCC), recently welcomed more than 200 NHS staff for tours of the construction site. The visits, organised in partnership with Velindre University NHS Trust, brought together a diverse group of colleagues from across the organisation. Staff including doctors, nurses, radiographers, physicists, to IT and digital teams, innovation leads, charity staff, patient representatives and volunteers had the opportunity to see the nVCC up close.
