People across Blaenau Gwent are being invited to take part in this year’s residents’ survey.
The Let’s Talk: Living in Blaenau Gwent survey runs from Monday 14 September until Sunday 25 October 2026. It asks residents for their views on their local area, council services, community life, wellbeing and local democracy.
The survey can be completed online via Get Involved Blaenau Gwent, the council’s consultation and engagement platform. It forms part of the National Residents’ Survey organised by the Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA) and is being run by many local authorities across Wales.
Paper copies and Easy Read versions will be available from the council’s Community Hubs in libraries in Abertillery, Blaina, Cwm, Ebbw Vale, Brynmawr and Tredegar, and also from Llanhilleth Miners’ Institute. Surveys can also be picked up from the General Offices in Ebbw Vale.
This year’s survey includes questions about community life, such as how connected people feel to their local area, whether they feel part of their community and what might encourage them to get more involved in local activities and volunteering.
The council said the feedback will help support the aims of the Blaenau Gwent Deal to create thriving, connected communities where people can live well and feel supported.

The Let’s Talk: Living in Blaenau Gwent survey gives people across the borough a direct opportunity to influence the decisions that affect their daily lives.
“Every response provides valuable insight that helps us plan services, strengthen communities and deliver on our priorities linked to the Blaenau Gwent Deal and the Marmot Principles to reduce inequality.
“I encourage residents of all ages and backgrounds to take part. By sharing your views, you can help shape the future of Blaenau Gwent and ensure local services reflect the needs of our communities.”
Residents can complete the survey from 14 September to 25 October.
