Boxing Day swim returns to Lido Ponty this year

The ever-popular Lido Ponty Boxing Day Swim returns in 2021 – and tickets go on sale on Monday, December 6.

Tickets for the swim will remain fixed at £5 per person (free for those aged five and under), including a swim, as well as a hot drink and pastry, freshly prepared on site by the team at Caffi Lido.

Plus who knows what Christmas crackers and festive frivolities the Lido Ponty team will have in store for guests!

The return of the Boxing Day swim, which was not held in 2020 due to Coronavirus, marks the end of a record-breaking year for the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty.

Despite ongoing Covid-19 restrictions and safety measures, Lido Ponty welcomed an incredible 92,500 people during its main 2021 season – more visits than any other season since the beloved attraction re-opened in 2015!

At the start of 2020, Lido Ponty – a stunning restoration of the Lido that has stood in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park since 1927 – was devastated by Storm Dennis. Millions of pounds of work was needed to repair the damage and replace the traditional, and often original features. When the Coronavirus struck, staff and contractors worked throughout lockdown to complete the works, enabling Lido Ponty to return to its former glory and re-open its doors to swimmers in 2021.
