Cadw partnership to link exciting summer of football with Welsh history and culture

The Football Association of Wales and Cadw are pleased to announce an exciting partnership that will link an exciting summer of football with Welsh history and culture.

The Cymru National Men’s Team will be taking part in this summer’s UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, one of the biggest international football competitions in the world.

Cadw is the Welsh Government’s historic environment service, working for an accessible and well- protected historic environment for the benefit of future generations.

This is achieved through the delivery of ambitious conservation projects to ensure that the country’s built heritage continues to support Wales’s economic well-being, and working closely with like- minded partners ― like the FAW ― to encourage the people of Wales and beyond to cherish and enjoy Wales’s historic sites.

The FAW sees Welsh history, culture and language as a key part of its identity and the aim of the partnership is to raise awareness of Wales’ history whilst encouraging fans to visit the Cadw sites as part of an active lifestyle. The partnership will see the FAW have a visible presence at Cadw sites across Wales this summer, with more information to be unveiled in the coming days.

The partnership will also play a key role in Cymru’s squad announcement for the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament, which will take place at 19:30 on Sunday 30 May in a live show which fans can watch across all FAW social media channels.
