Caerphilly County Borough Council is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in two categories at this year’s TPAS Cymru Participation Awards.

One category it has been shortlisted for recognises its approach to involving communities in the delivery of environmental improvements as part of its £260 million Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS) programme.

The work of its Older Persons Housing team has also been recognised with a shortlist in the category of ‘Supporting the wellbeing of tenants and residents’.  This includes the efforts of staff working to support vulnerable residents in its sheltered housing schemes and via its floating support service.

The annual national TPAS Cymru Participation Awards celebrate best practice in involving tenants and communities in housing related services throughout Wales.  Winners of the 2022 awards will be announced at a celebratory event on 6th July.

Cllr Shayne Cook, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, said “This is a fantastic achievement to have made it to the shortlist for two categories at these prestigious awards and I’d like to congratulate everyone involved.

“The Council is committed to placing residents at the heart of decision making and providing person centred service delivery.  Being shortlisted in both categories is testament to the efforts of Team Caerphilly in delivering on these promises and providing services which meet the needs of our residents.”
