In January, the redeveloped fitness suite at Newbridge Leisure Centre was the first gym in Wales to provide access to eGYM smart strength equipment.

The new state of the art, air-conditioned fitness suite has been designed with a contemporary style supported by an extensive range of industry leading equipment, offering cardiovascular, strength and digital based solutions.

The eGYM system creates a customised programme for each user based on their personal goals for weight loss, strength training, general fitness and immunity boost. The equipment automatically syncs with the eGYM fitness app to track the user’s progress and visualize results. The personalised settings adjust and alter workouts based on the users progress which means their fitness programme never stagnates or the user never over-works. The eGYM equipment features touchscreens with an interface like a video game showing how many reps to do, at what speed, and with what range of motion.

The fitness suite also includes the latest, high quality equipment including curve treadmills, Air cycle and SkiErg’s, completemeted by industry leading racks, benches and lifting platforms. The newly designed group cycle studio and dance studio will be home to a varied programme of group exercise classes from high intensity body conditioning to yoga and Pilates, with the aim of providing a range of opportunities to all residents.
