PureCyber, one of the fastest-growing technology companies in Wales, is marking a decade in business amid continued expansion following investment from BGF.
Since securing backing from BGF in the summer of 2024, the Cardiff-based firm has expanded its team from 34 to 54 cybersecurity professionals, representing a 59% increase in headcount, alongside achieving a 33% increase in revenue and a gross profit increase of 44% since the investment in June 2024.
Founded in 2016 by CEO Damon Rands, PureCyber has grown into a full-service cyber security partner, delivering enterprise-grade services including managed SOC operations, global penetration testing, incident response and brand protection.
This growth follows a sustained period of investment in talent, infrastructure and technology, alongside increased recruitment activity across both technical and commercial teams as the business continues to scale.
Operating 24/7, PureCyber delivers an integrated suite of services designed to act as an extension of its clients’ internal teams, supporting organisations across a range of sectors. Key to its success is its combination of governance, offensive, and defensive cyber security into a single subscription service, a unique proposition for clients.
While the business has built a strong reputation across Wales, it is now focused on expanding its footprint across the wider UK, targeting larger organisations and replicating its regional success in new markets.
On its growth, PureCyber CEO Damon Rands said: “Over the past two years, we’ve focused on building the depth and capability needed to support our growing client base and respond to the increasing complexity of cyber threats.
“As we celebrate ten years in business, our growth reflects both the strength of our team and the trust we’ve earned from organisations across a wide range of sectors. We’re now focused on scaling the business further, expanding our reach across the UK and continuing to support organisations navigating a constantly evolving threat landscape.”
Hannah King, investor at BGF, added: “PureCyber’s growth since investment reflects the strength of its leadership and the scale of opportunity within the cybersecurity sector.
“Following continued development of its platform and commitment to internal talent, the business is well positioned to build on this momentum as it enters its next phase of growth, and we’re excited to continue to support Damon and the team.”
PureCyber’s sustained success has been recognised through its inclusion in the UK Fast Growth 50 Index for the third consecutive year.
