A McDonald’s restaurant in Cardiff has reopened following a major redesign aimed at improving the experience for customers, delivery couriers and staff.

The restaurant on Excelsior Road is owned and operated by local franchisee Ralph Parker, who runs 13 McDonald’s restaurants across Cardiff and South Wales.

The refurbishment forms part of McDonald’s reimaging programme, which combines updated restaurant layouts with new technology to provide greater speed, efficiency and choice.

The redesigned restaurant now has dedicated areas for customers eating inside and couriers collecting delivery orders. The traditional front counter has also been removed, creating more space for diners and a more efficient ordering process.

Changes to the kitchen and dining areas will better integrate digital ordering channels, including the McDonald’s App, while making more effective use of the available space.

Local McDonald’s Franchisee, Ralph Parker, who owns and operates 13 McDonald’s across Cardiff and South Wales, said: “I’m proud to reinvest in our Cardiff Excelsior Road restaurant! The dining area is more contemporary, and we now have separate facilities for our dine-in customers and our couriers leading to a better experience for everyone. It’s exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of our Excelsior Road restaurant and I’m confident the changes will not only benefit our customers but also our restaurant team as these will help make their jobs a little easier.”

The restaurant’s crew facilities have also been upgraded, with a redesigned staff room providing a more comfortable and relaxing space for employees during their breaks.

While customers can still walk into the restaurant to place an order, the new layout has been designed to accommodate the growing number of people ordering through digital platforms and delivery services.
