A lucky grandad from Cardiff was in disbelief after claiming a massive jackpot of £28,000 at Grosvenor Casino Cardiff earlier this month.

The 67-year-old auto-mechanic, who is a dad of five and grandad of seven, was rejoiced to discover he’d won big on the Progressive Jackpot on three card poker. The auto-mechanic is a regular at his local Grosvenor Casino at The Red Dragon Centre in Cardiff Bay and has been going to the casino for almost a decade.

David was in his local casino in Cardiff for a night out with his grandson as the two are regular visitors at the casino and often chance their luck at three card poker. Not long after he began playing, he discovered that he’d won the Progressive Jackpot of almost £30,000.

Speaking after his jackpot win, David, said: “It was so unexpected. We were at the casino the night before so it really was a spur of the moment thing that led us to the casino that evening. My grandson and I have won before but nothing ever this big. The news still hasn’t sunk in, I just know that I’m currently the happiest person in the world. I’m going to have to give my grandson a cut!”

Mark Stothard, General Manager at Grosvenor Casino Cardiff, said: “A huge congratulations to David from everyone here at Grosvenor Casino Cardiff. It’s great to see a familiar face at the casino win big. We hope he has the best time in Vegas and can’t wait to the pictures. We wish the best of luck to all our players at the casino and hope for many more winners to come.”
