ROATH opticians has expanded its store following a £250,000 investment.

Specsavers on Albany Road is set to officially relaunch on 25 May following the investment, which saw two new test rooms added to create additional space and meet the growing demand for eye tests and audiology clinics in the area.

As part of the expansion, the store can provide services on behalf of the NHS, including prescribing treatment for a range of eye conditions, as well as providing professional ear wax removal.

Director Jessica Borley says: ‘The brand-new renovation, complete with state-of-the-art technology, aids us in providing vital services to our community while also alleviating pressure on the NHS.

‘With over 200 years of experience among the team, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service, further enhanced by our recent renovation.’

To mark the official reopening of the store, a charity fundraiser will take place on 25 May to raise money for Coppafeel. There will be a family fun day with activities, treats and goody bags to commemorate the celebration.

She adds: ‘We look forward to welcoming the community to our store over the bank holiday weekend as we come together to support a local charity.’

    The store remains open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday 9am – 5:30pm, and Sunday 10am – 5pm.
