Tomorrow (1 November) is World Vegan Day and The Red Dragon Centre is gearing up to celebrate with plenty on offer for both committed vegans and those who want to give the plant-based lifestyle a try.

Cardiff’s premier entertainment destination appeals to a wide cross section of people from across South Wales so it’s important to the teams there that they include a wide array of vegan offerings.

Leading the way is Cadwaladers who recently launched their own vegan-specific menu which includes a wide array of sweet and savoury snacks, as well as a full range of vegan ice creams and even sundaes. The vegan knickerbocker glory and the vegan Oreo sundae have proved particularly popular.

Recently refurbished Bella Italia has a number of traditional Italian options for vegans, including all the classics; pizza, pasta and risotto.

Even the casino has a full vegan menu available which includes falafel burgers and sweet potato and chickpea curry. There is also a sparkling champagne sorbet for anyone who wants to celebrate a lucky spin on the roulette wheel.

Vegans are well catered for at Hollywood Bowl, where they can tuck into appetising vegan ragu and salads, as well as other treats.

Capital FM Breakfast DJ, Matt Lissack, a dedicated vegan, said:

“Working in The Red Dragon Centre five days a week means that I’m often looking for something delicious to eat after work. A few years ago it would have been a real struggle to find something but now, there’s so much to choose from, it’s great.”

Emma Constantinou, Marketing Manager for The Red Dragon Centre said:

“If you’ve wondered about veganism but always thought it sounds too much like hard work, World Vegan Day is a great opportunity to explore some of the great plant-based food on offer in The Red Dragon Centre.

“The vegan food scene has really grown here in recent years and these are plenty of fantastic places to explore.”
