The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Machynlleth is hosting a series of family-friendly events throughout the Easter holidays (01 – 16 April) — designed to help visitors celebrate spring, connect with nature and learn more about helping wildlife thrive.

A variety of activities will take place each day — from hunting for fascinating facts about pollinators along the bee trail and identifying pond creatures with CAT’s wildlife rangers to helping create a ‘tiny garden’ that will support wildlife at CAT for years to come.

There will also be opportunities to take part in a woodland bird survey, join a tour of the Centre and receive tips and advice from CAT’s expert team.

What’s more, most events are included within the price of a CAT entry ticket and don’t require pre-booking — however visitors are strongly advised to visit the CAT website to check information about specific events before visiting.

Head of the Eco Centre at CAT, John Challen, said: “With ponds, woodlands, gardens, trails, exhibitions and our expert team on hand, there’s so much to discover and learn on a day out at CAT.

“We therefore look forward to welcoming adults and children alike to engage with the outdoors this spring and beyond — to learn what they can do to help the wildlife in their local area.”
