Rev your engines as the Classic Car Show returns to Rhondda Heritage Park Museum on 28th June.

The event offers a fantastic time for all the family, with the chance to see pristine classic cars and meet their enthusiastic and knowledgeable owners. It all takes place on Saturday, June 28th, 10am – 4pm.

The event is, as always, held in association with Glamorgan Classic Car Club. Entry is £5.50 per adult, £4.50 per child with free entry for children aged 5 and under.

Cllr Bob Harris, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Communities, said:

The Classic Car Show has been a popular annual event for many years at Rhondda Heritage Park Museum.  Organised in conjunction with the Glamorgan Classic Car Club, the cars on display are always immaculate and give us a glimpse into life in days gone by. The show takes place in the courtyard of Rhondda Heritage Park Museum which provides an impressive and historic backdrop to the vintage cars on display.”

The owners of the cars are happy to chat and talk about the stories behind their superbly restored and cared for vehicles. It’s an event enjoyed not only by car enthusiasts, but by families and children also.

If you’re coming along to this year’s Classic Car Show, don’t forget you can also visit Rhondda Heritage Park Museum’s interactive exhibitions, enjoy a meal, snack or afternoon tea at Caffe Bracchi, and pop into the gift shop to browse or add to your collection of souvenirs, classic Welsh gifts or local produce.

Visitors are more than welcome to treat themselves to a Black Gold Underground tour, where they will be fitted with their miners’ helmet by a former collier and taken underground and back in time.

All of our tour guides are former coal miners who worked the mines of the South Wales valleys themselves. No two tours are the same as the guides have endless stories, anecdotes and jokes to share. Every tour culminates with a ride on DRAM! A simulated experience in which the last coal of dram journeys to the top of the mine shaft – hold on tight!

Tickets for the Classic Car Show are available here. Tickets will also be available on the day.

Anyone interested in showing their vehicle at the event is invited to complete the application form here and return to the Glamorgan Classic Car Club using the contact details on the form.
