    Consultation launched on charging for parking on Aberystwyth Promenade

    Ceredigion County Council is consulting on proposals to introduce charges for parking along sections of the Promenade in Aberystwyth.

    The Ceredigion County Council (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Loading and Unloading) Order 2019 (Aberystwyth Seafront) (Parking Places and Charges) (Amendment Order No. 13) 202x is being proposed to introduce changes to parking restrictions which fall under the Order, with a view to:

    1. Increasing on-street parking turnover, and therefore to boost trade
    2. Encouraging greater use of public transport and interchange between travel modes
    3. Reducing traffic congestion and improve traffic flow around traffic in sensitive areas of the town
    4. Promoting greater levels of active travel

    Residents are encouraged to read the draft order and supplementary information, which can be found at Aberystwyth Seafront Parking Places and Parking Charges Consultation – Dec 2024 and, if they have any objections to the proposals, to either complete the online form to submit their reasons for the objection (if your response will exceed the maximum text character limit please send your response to [email protected] using the Subject: Public Consultation – Proposed Ceredigion County Council Aberystwyth Seafront Parking Places and Parking Charges Amendments Order No. 13 or send a letter setting out the reasons for the objections to Legal Services, c/o Post Room, Ceredigion County Council, Canolfan Rheidol, Rhodfa Padarn, Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, SY23 3UE to be received by no later than 27 December 2024.

    The draft order and supplementary information may also be examined at the offices of Ceredigion County Council at Canolfan Alun R Edwards Library, Queen’s Square, Aberystwyth, SY23 2EB during normal office hours.
