Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is delighted to announce that its incredibly popular Graduate Programme is now open for applications.

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council prides itself in providing quality employment opportunities and its Graduate Programme is the perfect platform to a successful career in many different service areas.

Launching its latest Graduate Programme, the Council has 21 Graduate positions available to apply for, ranging from data management, construction and building services to accountancy, civil engineering and electric vehicle fleet transition.

Councillor Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Deputy Leader, said: “Once again. I am delighted to be announcing the launch of our latest Graduate Programme for 2022.

“Our Graduate Scheme proves to be hugely successful every year, with high-quality candidates being recognised and going on to have careers with us.

“As one of the largest employers in Rhondda Cynon Taf, the Council recognises the importance of creating valued, well-paid jobs, with plenty of learning opportunities for our residents.

“As a local authority, we deliver a wide range of services to the public and our latest Graduate opportunities reflect this, with posts available in many areas, ranging from community safety, cyber and civil engineering to data analysis and intelligence and electric fleet transition.

“Our Graduate Programme gives successful applicants the opportunity to develop as managers of the future, and this Council is proud to be able to provide these opportunities for its residents.

“I hope that the essential work and public service our staff carry out on a daily basis will inspire many Graduates to consider joining us and working for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.”

The Council has a strong and proud record of providing employment opportunities through a range of employment schemes, with more than 70 Graduates employed since 2017 alone.

The huge range of opportunities that are made available each year always lead to a high volume of applications, with the Graduate programme’s popularity increasing year on year.

Graduate Programme placements are a two-year fixed work placement, during which time opportunities are given to develop management skills in a dynamic and varied organisation, as well as gaining a Project Management Level 4 qualification. Many Graduates from previous years have gone into management positions within the Council.

The graduate roles available for 2022 are:

    • Data Management
    • Participation (Children’s Services)
    • Community Safety
    • Project Management (Construction and Building Services)
    • Accountancy
    • Procurement (Net Zero)
    • Cyber and Infrastructure
    • Data Business Intelligence Analysis
    • Civil Engineering (Traffic)
    • Civil Engineering (Strategic Projects)
    • Civil Engineering (Drainage)
    • Civil Engineering (Streetcare)
    • Electric Vehicle Fleet Transition
    • Data Analysis and Insights
    • Service Development and Transformation (Children’s Services)
    • Service Development and Transformation (Adult’s Services)

Arrangements are in place to conduct the necessary interviews and assessments in the safest manner possible that adheres to all the current Welsh Government and Public Health Wales guidance.

Applications are now open until February 18, 2022, for the Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Graduate Programme.
