The foodie favourite that is the Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival is back with a bang again this year with a whole host of tasty treats to tempt festival goers across the end of May Bank Holiday Weekend (Sun 28 – Mon 29 May).

With something to suit all diets, ages and interests – moreish meats, vegan varieties, curries, cheeses, chutneys; scrumptious ciders, great gins, sweet treats and so much more – it promises to be a real highlight in this year’s calendar.

New to this year’s festival include the award-winning Keralan Karavan, bringing a taste of stunning Southern Indian cooking street-food style, along with Pontyclun-based Rock & Scallop, showcasing the best of Welsh and British fish ‘from the shore to the door – or on the go!’

The much-loved food demos are also back for 2023; a Saturday Kitchen set up guaranteed to entertain.

As well as the main festival site, the Old Hall Gardens will be buzzing with lots of family-friendly activities to enjoy – interactive slime making workshops with the Slime Factory; plenty of colourful ideas (and slime!) to take home, artist workshops, falconry, pétanque and the chance to create your own favourite milkshake flavour with The Milk Shed team.

Forage Farm will also be supporting the event from their festival park and ride site at Penllyn Estate with animals out on the lawn and activities planned.

Speaking about this year’s event, Festival Manager Tracy James-Lieberman said:

“We’re gearing up for a really great event this year – a perfect mix of regular exhibitors we know our festival goers love to see with plenty of new and exciting additions too which is fantastic and brings an added international flavour to the whole weekend.

“There’ll be such a variety of fabulous produce available to sample, buy and just generally enjoy; and so many other things going on to make it the perfect way to spend a Bank Holiday!

“A huge thank you to Arthur John & Co for allowing us to take over their car park and their continued support throughout the whole year, and also to Macey Owen.

“Special thanks aswell to our lovely sponsors, Hensol Castle Distillery and Specsavers Cowbridge and all the volunteers who lend a hand to help make the event happen – Cowbridge Rotary, The Young Farmers and Cowbridge Moovers running Club – as well as all the local businesses who really embrace the festival vibe.”
