Both sponsors will feature on the men’s and women’s rugby jerseys for their respective matches against Cardiff University.

Their sponsorship will also see representatives presenting the Varsity jerseys to both the men’s and women’s squads ahead of the showpiece event, as well as dual campus digi-screen advertising.

The Welsh Varsity is a week-long festival of sport which sees students compete in over 40 sports including swimming, golf, football, netball, hockey and fencing.

The majority of events will take place at the Sport Wales facilities in Sophia Gardens on Wednesday, April 10, culminating in the men’s rugby match at the Principality Stadium later that night.

The men’s rugby match will be broadcast live on S4C, with kick-off at 7.05pm, and online via S4C Clic, Rygbi Pawb Facebook Live and S4C’s YouTube channel, while the women’s match which kicks off at 4.30pm will be streamed live on S4C Clic, Rygbi Pawb Facebook Live and S4C’s YouTube channel.

Dell EMC, a part of Dell Technologies, enables organisations to modernise, automate and transform their data centre using industry-leading converged infrastructure, servers, storage and data protection solutions.

Circle IT are the UK’s technology experts for Education and leading IT support and solutions provider to Corporate and Public Sector organisations across the UK.

As well as Dell EMC and Circle IT, Swansea University will also have partner sponsors in the form of Icon Creative Design and Westdale whose logos will appear on the jerseys of both the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams.

Claire Vyvyan, Senior Vice President at Dell EMC said:

“As both an ex player and supporter, I’m delighted that Dell Technologies have the opportunity to support 2019 Welsh Varsity rugby.

“Rugby is without doubt the sport which most depends on team work, commitment, passion and leadership and Dell is proud that we are able to invest in helping young people at Swansea University to cultivate these skills which will serve them throughout life.

“Dell Technologies is also committed to investing in Wales and we look forward to making some exciting announcements in the coming months.”

Roger Harry, Circle IT CEO said:

“We are delighted to be the principal sponsors for Swansea University at The Welsh Varsity. This sponsorship agreement demonstrates our continued engagement within the South Wales community and our commitment to provide young people with the experience, equipment and skills they need to succeed.”

Delyth Thomas, Corporate events and engagement manager at Swansea University said:

“The Welsh Varsity has become a greatly anticipated event in the University calendar, a real highlight for athletes and supporters alike. It is a fantastic time of year for students as they spend an action-packed day celebrating the pride that they have in their University.

“We are delighted to have the support of both DELL EMC and Circle IT which will help make this year’s Welsh Varsity a truly memorable occasion for everyone involved.”
