Elise Howard from Llanelli has been crowned the best mobile phone salesperson in the UK.

Elise, who works for EE at its Llanelli store, was named winner of the Shop Idol 2021 award at the Mobile Industry Awards (MIA) 2021 last night.

Elise, 24, who lives in Gorseinon, beat competition from hundreds of entrants from across the UK’s major retailers, to be named best mobile phone salesperson in the UK.

She received her award at the MIA 2021 ceremony in London from Charlie Nordfeldt, Head of Channel Engagement at Samsung, and celebrated alongside Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s consumer division, who was also an award-winner at the event (named the Power 50 Person of the Year). The awards were hosted by BBC presenter Jason Mohammad.

Speaking after receiving the award, Elise Howard said: “It was an incredible night, taking home the award for the UK’s best sales person in the mobile industry 2021. I met some incredible people and each finalist was an absolutely amazing person. It’s been an unreal experience, and to be there representing EE, was a really proud moment for me. Having my hard work recognised in this way has been something I will never forget.”

Elise took home a prize package provided by Samsung worth almost £3,000, including a Galaxy Z Flip3 5G smartphone, a Galaxy Tab S7 5G tablet, a Galaxy Watch 3 smartwatch and a pair of Galaxy Buds Plus headphones.
