Enjoy a right royal Bank Holiday at Oystermouth Castle

Children looking to be a prince or princess for a day can have their very own castle to play in if they head along to Oystermouth Castle later this month.

Young visitors have the chance to come along as their favourite fairy-tale character at the special event on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29 from 11am – 4pm and  enjoy fairytales, music, singing and dancing with the likes of Rapunzel, Belle, Aladdin and Elsa

The family fun day will give princes and princesses the chance to play out their dreams and fairytales in a proper medieval castle and learn a little bit more about what went on in the castle back in the days of Norman knights and the Lords and Ladies of Gower.

Cabinet Member for Culture and Equalities, Councillor Elliott King said   “The council and Friends of Oystermouth Castle are responsible for maintaining the historic attraction as well as arranging a number of family-friendly events throughout the open season.

“Many thousands of people visit Oystermouth Castle every summer. The castle offers a first class visitor experience that’s as fun as it is educational and helps boost the local economy too.”

Oystermouth Castle sits majestically on the hill in Mumbles, with stunning views overlooking Swansea Bay. It features artwork from the 14th Century, a 30-foot high glass bridge and private staircases leading from vaults to rooms once used as banqueting halls.

Oystermouth Castle is open daily from 11am-5pm until September 30, and weekends in October.
