Entries open for ABP Newport Marathon Festival 2026

Entries are now open for runners to take part in the 2026 ABP Newport Marathon Festival – and hundreds have already signed up for next year. A record-breaking number of runners took part in the 2025 edition last weekend, with thousands of runners taking over the city’s streets.

The date has been set for the 2026 event which will take place on Sunday 19th April.

Those keen to secure their slot in this thrilling festival of running, including marathon, half marathon, 10K and junior races, can take advantage of special launch offer pricing. However, they need to act fast as there’s only a limited number of these entries left.

The marathon launch offer priced at £42 provides runners with a £16 saving versus the general entry, while the half marathon launch offer of £38 gives a £10 discount. Once these have gone, pricing will change to a limited early bird offer – both offering a £6 saving.

For runners who are thinking about signing up but waiting to see if they first get into the 2026 TCS London Marathon before entering, they don’t need to worry. Run 4 Wales are offering a London Marathon Ballot Guarantee meaning they can take advantage of the launch entry offer with confidence, knowing that if they are successful in the ballot, they can cancel and claim a refund on their 2026 ABP Newport Marathon registration fee. They’ll just need to provide proof of successful ballot entry, linked to the same email address used to register for the Newport Marathon by the end of August.

Runners wanting to take on the 10K distance can take advantage of one of 500 early bird tickets priced at £28, saving £6 on general entry.

Matt Newman, Chief Executive at event organisers Run 4 Wales, said: “It was fantastic to see so many runners taking part in this year’s ABP Newport Marathon Festival.

“With the marathon distance boasting one of the flattest and fastest courses, it’s becoming increasingly popular among those looking to secure a PB or a good for age qualifying time. This year’s event completely sold out and we’re expecting the same for 2026, so we’d encourage runners to sign up now to avoid disappointment.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming runners back to the streets of Newport in 2026 and are so thankful for the continued support of our title sponsor, Associated British Ports, lead charity Mind in Gwent and Newport City Council.”

The popular Welsh Distance Double tickets which include entry into the Cardiff Half Marathon and Newport Marathon will go on sale later this year. This discount is equivalent to the saving of the marathon early bird price, so there’s no need to delay.

The R4W 10K Series bundles will also go on sale later this year after the Brecon Carreg CDF 10K. Again, the offer is an equivalent saving to the 10K early bird prices, so there’s no need to worry about missing out if signing up now.
