Ethical Welsh skincare brand expands into hospitality market

Barry-based The Goodwash Company has achieved 18% growth in online sales this year, driven by a surge in website orders and new trade partnerships with premium hospitality clients across Wales and the UK.

The ethical skincare brand, which creates luxury vegan and cruelty-free products, has secured a landmark distribution agreement with Castell Howell, one of Wales’ largest foodservice wholesalers. The Castell Howell partnership will see Goodwash’s core wash range distributed to hospitality businesses across Wales and the UK, significantly expanding the brand’s reach beyond its existing direct-to-consumer and boutique hotel channels.

The growth comes as The Goodwash Company expands its presence in the premium hospitality sector, securing prestigious new clients including Crwst Cymru in Cardigan. The company has also launched a special collaboration candle with Michelin-starred Ynyshir Hall and announced a new gifting partnership campaign with Land Rover Defender.

Founded in 2018, The Goodwash Company has been supported by the Accelerated Growth Programme (AGP), a Business Wales service which provides targeted support for ambitious growing firms. AGP worked with the company to revamp its     e-commerce strategy, resulting in the launch of a new website this year that has driven significant online growth.

In a major milestone for the business, Goodwash has also established a legacy foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation in Wales. The foundation will now automatically distribute company profits to good causes in Wales.

Mandy Powell, Founder of The Goodwash Company, said:

“We are pleased with this year’s growth and the calibre of partnerships we have secured whilst maintaining excellent relationships with our long-standing partners. The increase in sales reflects a fundamental shift in consumer behaviour. More people want to support local businesses with a social conscience, and making the switch to ethical products like ours is an easy choice.

“Our Welsh language products, particularly our Pawen Lawen paw balm and Sebon Dwylo hand soap, are proving incredibly popular. The Welsh language is integral to our brand identity, and it’s wonderful to see customers responding so positively to that.

“The support we have received from the Accelerated Growth Programme has been transformative. The new website and digital strategy have been key drivers of our online growth, and we couldn’t have achieved this without that expert guidance and strategic input from the AGP team.”

    Mandy continued:

“Launching our legacy foundation with the Community Foundation in Wales in 2026 is something I’m incredibly proud of. It allows us to formalise our commitment to giving back and ensures that, as we grow, Welsh communities benefit directly from our success. Looking ahead, we’re on an exciting journey to become a certified B Corp business over the next year, which will further validate our commitment to social and environmental responsibility.”

Lucy Jones, Operations Manager of the Accelerated Growth Programme, said:

“The Goodwash Company exemplifies a business that combines commercial ambition with genuine social impact. Mandy’s vision for building a sustainable, ethical brand that gives back to communities is inspiring, and the results speak for themselves. The Goodwash Company is perfectly positioned to capitalise on the growing trend toward social consumerism, and we’re proud to support their journey through the Accelerated Growth Programme.”
