The family of a man who died following a collision in Barry have paid tribute to a ‘loving father and grandfather.’

Anthony Silver, aged 60, of Barry, was injured in a road traffic collision on Port Road at the junction with Blackton Lane, Barry, which took place on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at around 2.50pm.

The collision which involved a motorcycle and a Ford Focus resulted in the rider of the motorcycle, Mr Silver, being taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for treatment.

Mr Silver died from his injuries yesterday, June 26, surrounded by his family and friends.

His family have paid the following tribute to the 60-year-old who was known as Tony:

“Tony Silver is survived by his parents and siblings, Royston, Doreen, Terrence and Jackie. His younger sister Lesley sadly passed away several years ago.

“He was a loving father and grandfather to many children, whom he loved dearly.

“He loved to go fishing, motorcycling and listening to music. He lived life to the full and will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.”

South Wales Police is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam footage to come forward. Anyone with information can call 101 quoting reference 1900222256.
