    Family tribute to ‘much loved’ teenager who died in Barry traffic collision

    The 19 year-old pedestrian who died following a road traffic collision in Barry in the early hours of Saturday 29th February has been names as Mason Richardson from Boverton, Llantwit Major.

    Mason’s family has issued the following statement:

    “The family of Mason Richardson, aged 19, wish to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to those who have sent messages of sympathy and floral tributes during this difficult time.

    “Mason was a much loved son and friend who was loved and liked by many, which is evident through the amount of messages being sent.

    “A much loved and liked character from the Llantwit Major area he will be sorely missed by his loving parents and friends alike.

    Rest in peace Mason.”

    The family has requested that they be left in privacy to reflect on these past few days.

    South Wales Police is continuing to appeal for information following the incident which happened on the A4226 Barry at about 2.30am on Saturday 29th February, specifically those who may have witnessed the manner of driving of a blue coloured Citroen C1, or seen two pedestrians walking in the area around 2-2.30am

    Anyone who may have dash camera footage of the incident is asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 quoting occurrence 2000074049.
