Festive season arrives at Celtic Manor with shows, skating and parties

The venue has become known for putting on large scale events and this year’s programme looks set to attract guests from across the country.

The Celtic Manor Resort and ICC Wales are getting ready to launch a full month of festive entertainment, with a mix of family shows, seasonal food, winter activities and big celebrations taking over Newport this December.

One of the main highlights is the return of Scrooge: A Cirque Spectacular. The show brings Dickens’ classic tale to life through circus performers, aerial acts and visual moments that aim to impress both children and adults. It has become a well loved Christmas tradition at the resort and this year’s version promises to be the most ambitious yet.

Food plays a key part in the celebrations. Guests can book the themed Ebenezer Afternoon Tea filled with festive treats or add the VIP lounge experience before the show, where adults can enjoy canapés and bubbles while children tuck into their own snacks and pick up a small toy to take home.

The Great Skate also returns, now featuring real ice for a true winter feel. With twinkling lights, a new skating tunnel, themed DJ nights and falling snow effects, the rink is set to be a popular choice for families. Food stalls serving hotdogs, loaded fries, waffles and burgers help keep the atmosphere going long after you have stepped off the ice.

For adults planning a festive night out, the Ultimate Christmas Festive-Al offers live entertainment, circus performers and a street food line up chosen to make the evening feel like a full Christmas party.

The New Year’s Eve Extravaganza rounds off the month with cocktails, fire eaters, showgirls and gourmet food stalls. The night finishes with a big celebration to welcome in 2026. Hotel packages at Coldra Court, Tŷ Newport and Tŷ Magor are also available for those who want to make a night of it.

If you want a relaxing Christmas Day, the Gourmet To Go service offers a fully prepared festive meal delivered to your door, with turkey, beef and plant based options.

Our own recent family stay at The Celtic Manor showed how much the resort offers during the winter months. It felt welcoming, easy and full of things to do even before the Christmas events begin. You can read more about the stay here.

The Festive Domes also return for 2025 and 2026, bringing their glowing winter setting back to the resort. They were one of the standout experiences last year and make a great addition to any Christmas visit. You can read about our experience with the Domes here.
