Those looking for employment or wanting to take their career or learning to the next level can find out more at Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Careers Fair next month.

The free event, at Rhondda Sports Centre in Ystrad, is the latest in a series of popular initiatives being delivered by the Council to ensure residents of all ages get the employment, education and training advice and support they need.

Previous events have attracted over 1,000 visitors on the day and it is expected the Careers Fair on September 12th will be just as popular, offering representatives from a wide range of organisations and businesses who want to share their job and training opportunities.

The event will also include workshops on key issues such as job interviews and application form completion tips, developing a career in social care and starting your own business.

At the Careers Fair there will be a chance to meet the Employment, Education and Training Team that coordinates the Apprenticeship and Graduate programme for RCT Council and find about when the next recruitment begins in 2019.

Cllr Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Deputy Leader, said:

“Our approach to employment, education and training has secured national  acclaim. The Careers Fair will showcase the opportunities on offer for our residents, regardless of age, career interest or experience.

“It also allows us to engage with visitors on the services we currently deliver and what more they would like to see.

“We prepare young people for work in the classroom, with top class work experience and vocational learning. Our Graduate scheme and Apprenticeships help people every year and we also have bespoke employment and training to help care-leavers prepare for independent living.

“When you combine such a far-reaching approach from the Council, RCT’s largest employer, with the opportunities presented by our partner agencies and private sector businesses, this is an event not to be missed.”
