FRP Corporate Finance has appointed Scott Ellis as a director in debt advisory, strengthening the firm’s specialist asset-based lending capabilities UK-wide.
Scott brings several years of experience in debt advisory with a focus on Asset-Based Lending, having supported dozens of mid-market companies navigating funding challenges. Prior to joining FRP Corporate Finance, he held roles in restructuring and debt advisory at one of the Big Four firms, having begun his career in corporate audit.
His experience spans all stages of an organisation’s financial health profile, from standard debt raises and refinancing to storied credits and distressed or accelerated debt. He has worked with clients across the economy, including large national chains, steering them through turnaround and back to profitability.
Based in Cardiff, Scott will support the UK-wide expansion of FRP’s Asset-Based Lending specialism within the debt advisory team.
Scott Ellis, director at FRP Corporate Finance, said: “I’m thrilled to be joining FRP’s excellent debt advisory team and helping to further develop the firm’s Asset-Based Lending offering. Back-to-back headwinds and rapid technological change have forced mid-market management teams to operate with greater complexity than they did seven to ten years ago, which has made funding requirements more complex.
“Debt markets have evolved and innovated to keep up with that complexity, and today’s lenders offer a fantastic range of debt options, creating a highly competitive environment. Though the converse of that is, of course, a more fragmented landscape. The typical borrower now finds it more difficult to understand the whole debt ecosystem, and that’s where we can add value as advisers, through strategic guidance and by leveraging our lender relationships.”
Jeremy French, chief operating officer at FRP, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Scott, who brings an outstanding track record of helping mid-market clients navigate financial hurdles and arrive at positive outcomes. I know that has often included working in distressed situations, which included managing several stakeholders simultaneously and pushing through accelerated solutions.
“Scott’s expertise allows us to deepen the Asset-Based Lending specialism within our debt advisory team, already a high-performing team within the business, further enhancing our national capabilities. Our goal is to support more organisations through challenging operating environments to achieve success.”
