As the 2022 FIFA World Cup approaches, let’s take a look at the countries that qualified for this truly international sporting event.

    Qatar

This will be Qatar’s first time hosting the event, so they will be looking to make a stunning debut for sure.

    Germany

Germany has won the FIFA World Cup 4 times, the latest in 2014, so will 2022 be the next one?

    Denmark

Denmark has qualified for 2022 but their track record in this year’s competition isn’t so promising.

    Brazil

Five titles ranging from 1958 to 2002 mean five more reasons to add another one to their already impressive resume.

    France

This team are the current world champions having won in 2018 and will be looking to retain their title so the 2022 World Cup odds will be on their side.

    Belgium

After they made third place in 2018, Belgium is obviously hungry for another taste of victory.

    Croatia

Croatia sorely missed out at the last tournament, losing to France, and will be looking to make amends for that. No one wants to be second best.

    Spain

The FIFA World Champions of 2010 are sure to want to reclaim their previous title.

    Serbia

The Serbians are headstrong but haven’t won a title yet. They will be working hard for it in 2022.

    England

1966 was the last winning year for England but so far they haven’t been able to turn their luck around.

    Switzerland

No World Cups yet for the Swiss team but who knows what is on the horizon.

    Netherlands

Runners-up in 2010, then third place in 2014, and not qualifying in 2018, this team will be looking to turn their luck around in 2022.

    Argentina

Runners-up in 2014 and World Champions in 1978 and 1986 mean that nothing is out of reach for this legendary team.

    Iran

Even with some strong players, these guys still have a long way to go if they want to even have a remote chance of a FIFA World Cup title.

    South Korea

Taking fourth place in 2002, the South Koreans are going to have to do something special to secure a victory this year.

    Japan

This game is not a strong suit for the Japanese team, but they have qualified and will be sure to do their best.

    Saudi Arabia

With no wins so far, the competitive Saudis are relatively new to the game in terms of the FIFA World Cup, so let’s see what they can come up with.

    Ecuador

As one of the least accomplished South American teams, it will be interesting to see what they can conjure this year, considering they didn’t even qualify in 2018.

    Uruguay

Uruguay was home to the inaugural 1930 FIFA World Cup which they won, and have won one more title thus far.

    Canada

Canadians aren’t well known for their love of soccer but they have at least qualified for 2022 so that is a step in the right direction.

    Ghana

They qualified for 2022 but the chances of a World Cup win are slim to none.

    Senegal

As a relatively new team to the World Cup, there’s not much chance of Senegal securing a win this year.

    Portugal

Legends of the sport, they’re still going to have to be better in 2022 if they want a chance at the title.

    Poland

Third place in 1974 and 1982 is the best this team has done. Maybe this time…

    Tunisia

Though Tunisia is not a likely contender for the title, this year will provide valuable experience for the team.

    Morocco

They got out of the group stage in 2018 so let’s see how they can perform this time.

    Cameroon

With their best effort placing 7th in 1990, this team has a lot of work to do if they want to become greats of the Cup.

    Mexico

The Mexicans are proud supporters of this game, but will they finally be able to be serious contenders? They have only made it as far as round 16 since 1994.

    United States

Although the U.S. loves the game, it will not be a sure-fire win unless they conjure up something magical.

    Australia

The Aussies love soccer but going by previous years, a World Cup is a long shot for the team from down under.

    Wales

This is only the second time in FIFA history that the Welsh team has qualified. Will they be the underdogs of the year?

    Costa Rica

There is a lot riding on this team for 2022 as their previous exploits have been unsuccessful.

Which country will become the 2022 FIFA World Cup champion is anyone’s guess at this stage but it is set to be a riveting competition.
