Wales Tech Week is proud to announce Thales as a Silver Partner, bringing the global technology leader’s expertise in innovation, digital security, and regional growth to Wales’ largest international tech summit, taking place from 24 to 26 November 2025 at the ICC Wales.

Building on the success of 2023, which attracted over 4,000 attendees, with 23% from outside of Wales, Wales Tech Week will connect, promote and position Wales on the global stage as a centre of expertise and opportunity for enabling and emerging technologies, and their applications for today’s business and society.

Thales’ presence in Wales is anchored by its state-of-the-art facility in Ebbw Vale – a growing hub of technological excellence and innovation. The company’s capability in Wales was initially supported through enabling projects backed by the Welsh Government and delivered in partnership with local universities. These early collaborations laid the foundation for Thales to advance its work in digital skills, cybersecurity, and next-generation technologies across the region.

More than a campus, the Ebbw Vale site is a livewire of innovation – developing cutting-edge cybersecurity for critical infrastructure. It plays a key role in supporting Wales’ thriving tech landscape through advanced labs, skills development, and strong local partnerships that drive jobs, supply chains, and secure digital transformation.

With a focus on research, skills development, and real-world applications, Thales’ work in Wales is a powerful example of how global expertise can drive local impact.

Avril Lewis MBE, Managing Director of Technology Connected, commented: “The partnership between Wales Tech Week and Thales Ebbw Vale highlights our shared vision for a future defined by innovation, security, and sustainability. Together, we are committed to nurturing an ecosystem that supports the growth of cybersecurity excellence and innovation across Wales and beyond.”

Justin Walker, VP Digital Solutions, Thales UK, said: “At our Ebbw Vale site, we are at the forefront of developing cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for critical national infrastructure on a global scale. We are committed to making a meaningful contribution to the vibrant local technology ecosystem in Wales and recognise that Wales Tech Week is a pivotal event that unites remarkable enterprises and innovators, fostering collaboration and growth in our community.”

The third day of Wales Tech Week will feature Talent4Tech, Wales’ ultimate tech career event. It will be an immersive, informative, and inspiring experience designed to attract the next generation of talent to meet the exponential demand for tech-skilled individuals. Thales has been a leading figure in talent attraction and retention programmes, such as degree apprenticeships, graduate placements and work experience across its UK sites.

Wales Tech Week 2025 is free to attend, with the summit exploring the themes of Tech for People, Tech for the Planet, and Tech for Performance.
