Halloween and Bonfire Night bus travel advice for Cardiff

Cardiff Bus is offering travel advice to customers heading out for Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations from this month.

The bus operator is alerting customers to service diversions and bus stop changes that will come into effect on October 31stand November 5th.

Diversions will apply to routes in the Splott, Tremorfa, Bute Street, Trowbridge and Llanrumney areas from approximately 5.30pm onwards.

Route alterations will include services 1 and 2, which will divert from Canal Street at 4.30pm and 5.30pm respectively.

Service 13 to Drope will divert from 5.30pm from Westgate Street to last bus, while the 13 from Drope will divert from Mansell Avenue from 5.52pm to the last bus.

The 13 service to the Sports Village will divert from Westgate Street from 4.18pm, while the 13 from the Sports village will divert from Olympian Drive from 5.15pm.

Service 44 will divert from the Royal Hotel at 5.48 pm, while service 45 will divert from the Royal Hotel from 5.42pm. Services 49 and 50 to Llanrumney will divert via the Royal Hotel at 5.14pm and 6.12pm respectively until the last bus. While the 49 bus to the City Centre will divert via the Royal Hotel at 6.05pm and the 50 will start from 6.12pm.

The 61 to Pengam Green will divert via Hayes Bridge Road at 5.50pm to last bus, while the 61 from Pengam Green will start from 6.13pm at Pengam Green to last bus.

The 64 to St Mellons will divert from Westgate Street at 3.25pm and 5.45pm to last bus, while the 64 to the City Centre will divert via St Mellons Police Station at 5.21pm and 7.24pm.

The 65 service to Llanrumney will divert from Westgate Street at 4.45pm and 6.45pm, wile the 65 to the City Centre will divert from St Mellons Police Station at 6.33pm.

Commercial Manager Gareth Stevens said they were aiming to keep disruption to a minimum during the Halloween and Bonfire Night celebrations.

He said: “To ensure the safety of both our passengers and staff on Halloween and Bonfire night, we have put some route alterations and diversion in place.

“Customers are advised to check all travel information before making their journey to ensure they can plan accordingly.
