HCB Solicitors strengthens leadership with two key appointments

Law firm, HCB Widdows Mason has announced two significant additions to its team, welcoming Angie Gurdon as Legal Practice Manager and Lorraine Watts as the new Head of Family Law, both based in Cardiff. These appointments underscore HCB’s commitment to strategic growth and enhancing its service offerings across South Wales.

Angie Gurdon: Legal Practice Manager

Angie Gurdon joins HCB Widdows Mason who brings over 10 years of experience working in a number of well-known legal firms in South Wales as  practice manager. She has developed a strong commitment to all things compliance and practice management but started her working life as a chef, running her own catering company in London.

When asked what attracted her to HCB, Angie highlighted the new role, the firm’s reputation as a growing, innovative firm, and the opportunity to be part of a growing team. She is looking forward to the challenge of growing this new role, as well as developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve operational procedures and support the firm’s growth.

Lorraine Watts: Head of Family Law

Lorraine Watts takes on the role of Head of Family Law, based in Cardiff. She specialises in Private Family Law such as divorce, matrimonial finances, pre-nuptial agreements, and private law children (not Care which is public law). She joins HCB from Hutton’s Law, an award-winning firm, where she was a Partner and Head of the Private Family Department for four years. Prior to that, she was an Associate at Wendy Hopkins Family Law Practice, a boutique family law firm in Cardiff city centre, for almost 16 years, where she also trained. As of August this year, Lorraine will have 20 years’ experience in family law.

Lorraine was attracted to HCB by the enthusiasm towards driving the business forwards while maintaining a good work-life balance. Her goal is to build and grow the family team using her extensive experience at a high level. She is also looking forward to the challenge of building the department from scratch and implementing systems and processes that she knows work best to provide excellent service to clients.
